Earth Day is soon upon us, and what better way to celebrate than to help clean up a section of one of Charlotte's most popular races, the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon! Bring your friends and your family to Cordelia Park at 11am on Sunday, April 21, 2024. This plogging event is for walkers and runners of all ages and paces. Gloves, vests, trash grabbers, and trash bags will be supplied by Keep Charlotte Beautiful.
Address: Cordelia Park, 600 E. 24th St, Charlotte, NC 28205. Meet at the corner of E 24th and N Davidson, in front of the Cordelia Pool entrance at 11am.
We will start at the corner and head north along N. Davidson for about a mile to E. 36th St., picking up trash along the right side of the road along the way. This covers miles ca 15.5 - 16.5 of the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon course. Then we will cross over and come back, cleaning up along the other side of the street and experiencing miles 21.5 to about 22.3, just like the runners on November 16th will!
We encourage EVERYONE to attend no matter your level of experience or ability. This is out and back, so you can shorten or elongate the distance however you wish. We would love to see kids help too! Our runs and events are (and always will be) free for anyone to attend. Membership to the Charlotte Running Club is not required.
If you want to support our effort to support the Charlotte running community, our annual membership fee is $20 a year for individuals, $30 for family, and $15 for Seniors & students. Your membership fee directly supports events held throughout the year by volunteers.
