Additional Information
Each year the Charlotte Running Club elects a new Board of Directors in accordance with the club bylaws. We will be doing nominations via a Google Form and will be accepting nominations from May 1st through the 16th, 2026 to fill FOUR board seats each serving a two-year term through June 2028. We will announce the candidates for the board and voting will take place from June 2nd through the 16th 2026. We will post results online and introduce our new board members at our Summer Social in July. Charlotte Running Club can also add up to THREE (3) nominees serving a one year term to create a full board of 11 members.
We are proud to be a diverse club represented by all ages, genders, backgrounds and paces all uniting for their passion of running. We wish to keep the board this way and welcome all applicants.
As a non-profit organization and as a certified Road Runners Club of America and USATF Club, we follow an established set of guidelines (i.e. bylaws) related to policies, finances, planning and general activities. These affiliations allow the club to obtain insurance when required to host events, provide us nonprofit tax status, and help elevate our presence in the community so we can live out our mission to build a strong and healthy community through running.
The founding club leadership believed it was important to establish a process of selecting board members on an annual basis. Rather than allowing the club to be controlled by a few active members, the bylaws establish a written process to allow for new leadership. This helps promote a sustainable leadership body with the ability to allow new ideas to influence the club’s activities and policies.
How to become a Board Member
Individuals who are interested in being nominated to the Board of Directors should have an interest in helping to plan and implement club activities. As members of a volunteer organization, Board Members are not paid for their service to help manage and develop club activities. The time commitment required varies on the level of involvement but typically averages a few hours each month depending on the role. It is important that Board members commit for their full two-year term. We are particularly keen on finding new Board members who are social media savvy and good at communications, interested in driving new Charlotte Running Club events, helping with our merchandise, and being active on the field to promote Charlotte Running Club. We often work with local businesses and other non-profits so an existing network could be valuable.
Nominations
We are accepting nominations for FOUR elected board positions. Nominees must be an active member with CRC since February 1st or longer. Each member can nominate up to four current club members including themselves.
